Beverley & Tom enjoyed a beautiful summer day for their wedding at St Nicholas Church in Canewdon, Essex. Their special day was the relaxed, informal occasion that they’d hoped for, complete with a visit from a Rossi’s ice-cream van! Beverley & her guests tucked into ’99s’, perfect to cool everyone down in the sunshine! Their reception was one of the first to be held in the lovely new orangery at The Lawn in Rochford, & the hand-made gingerbread figures made perfect place settings!

World Cup Portrait Fun at Studio Rochford

As the World Cup final approaches this weekend we know of two little cuties who will be cheering on Spain!! They took part in our World Cup portrait promotion in June, sporting the strip of their Dad’s favourite team! Their portraits made a wonderful Fathers Day gift for him…and now that Spain are in the final, he must be a very happy man!

Chris and Charlotte had a wonderful marriage ceremony at Thundersley Congregational Church and were then whisked off to Crondon Park, Stock in Essex.

We have seen Chris and Charlotte at our Studio three times since their wedding as they are finding it difficult to finalise their choices for their wedding album! We are more than happy to assist them with their decision making as they are great people and we always want our couples to be completely satisfied with their choices. Their album will be something to treasure for the rest of their lives.

Alison & James’ English Country Wedding

Alison & James’ wedding was a perfect day full of emotion ~ laughter and tears a-plenty!

Married at Avenue Baptist Church in Westcliff on Sea, their reception was held in the grounds of James’ parents home in Hook End, Essex. Their guests enjoyed high tea in a beautiful marquee laden with china tea-cups and cake stands bursting with goodies! A hog-roast followed in the evening while the guests danced the night away.

Having known Alison since she was a little girl, being able to photograph her wedding day was truly extra special for photographer Sally Claydon.

Christopher Lawrence, Master Silversmith

Last Saturday I was lucky enough to meet a true craftsman, Master Silversmith Christopher Lawrence. Chris is one of the top silversmiths in the world and unknown to us until now, lives right here in Essex, just round the corner to us in Westcliff. Chris decided at the age of 13 that he wanted to become a silversmith, following a trip with the scouts to a silver factory, so his father built him a workshop at the bottom of the garden, where he practised until going to the Central School of Arts & Crafts in London. He is the winner of 28 prizes in the Goldsmiths Craft Council and holds 3 Jacque Cartier Memorial Awards.

Chris called us after completing an order for a gift for the Sultan of Oman and needing to get a record photograph for his client urgently, before the gift was shipped. I was asked to photograph a silver tree and spent the night worrying about the best way to do it, for his was no ordinary tree - but one lovingly crafted over 600 hours and worth £80,000. I have saved blogging until now to make sure that the tree has safely arrived in Oman - as it was literally un-insurable. I had no idea what to expect, but what I saw was beautiful, the work of a true craftsman. The tree stands approximately 2ft tall and 2ft wide and took three men to lift it into it’s final position, a beautifully crafted walnut box, designed by another craftsman, cabinet maker Paul Fayle of Park Interiors

Cheryl & Trevor’s Wedding at St Peter & Paul’s, Hockley & Stockbrook Manor

Cheryl & Trevor got married on a lovely sunny day at St Peter & Paul’s in Hockley, with Father Jeffrey making everyone feel at home in his beautiful church on the hill, dating back to 1220 A.D. After the ceremony we carried on to the reception at Stockbrook Golf & Country Club, where it was lovely to work with Charlotte once again. We did however find time to stop off on the journey to take a few photographs in a rape field - with me standing on the roof of my car to get the shots, which created more than a little interest from the passing traffic!

World Cup Fever!!

To celebrate England’s efforts in the World Cup, Studio Rochford are throwing open their doors every Saturday in June for all local children to come in and have their photograph taken in their England strip or team kits.

There is no charge for the shoot and we will make a donation to school or club funds for each child having their photograph taken.

All photographs are HALF PRICE and will make fantastic Fathers Day gifts!

Penny & Dave’s Wedding at Vaulty Manor

Dawn & Phil had a fantastic wedding at Stockbrook Manor and it was lovely to photograph them in their home with their gorgeous little bundle of fun, 3 month old Thomas.
