Essex registration services currently list 142 licensed wedding venues in Essex! We haven’t shot at all of them, but here are a selection of some that we have worked at. If you haven’t booked your venue yet it will help to think about what you need form the venue itself.
Are you having a summer or winter wedding? Are most of the photographs going to be indoors or out? If it’s winter, or it is raining what are the options for photographs, both for your couple’s portraits and for any groups that you might want. Is your venue exclusive use? This may or may not be a concern for you. For example if you choose a golf club, you may well be the only wedding that day, but some clubs will have exclusive use of a bar area for the wedding and others will have joint use with the club members.
What about the look of the venue? Do you want something regal, something modern, something that has a countryside feel like a barn, something that has a vintage feel to it like an old country home? If you already have a theme in mind for your wedding it might be worth considering working back form that – a beautiful 30’s themed art deco wedding would be fantastic at Claridges, but maybe not so at home in the Gherkin – you get the idea!!
And what about restrictions – if you are desperate for fireworks, does your venue actually allow them? Don’t assume that all venues do. Even something as simple as confetti, many venues have quite strict policies on where and when it can be thrown. Want to bring in your own caterers or pay corkage for wine? Your choices here may be restricted, so if it’s important to you, make sure you ask your considered venues right from the outset.
Hopefully the galleries above will give you an insight in to the photographic possibilities of the Essex wedding venues that we have worked at but if you can’t see the one that you are looking for contact us and we will see what we can find for you in our archives!
