Creeksea Place Wedding Photography ~ Sophie & Billy

Sophie & Billy had a lovely Summer wedding including an outdoor ceremony at Creeksea Place, Burnham on Crouch.

Sophie shares with us below her thoughts on the planning and preparation of her wedding day, and the details that made it so special.

Where did your wedding take place and what made you choose that location?

Our wedding was at Creeksea Place, Burnham.  It was the first venue we saw and we fell in love straight away as it was so beautiful and not many people had heard of it.

What was your colour scheme or wedding theme?

Our colour scheme was Lilac and we went for a country garden look as our wedding was in June.  I wanted all the flowers to look like they had just been picked from a garden but I did have to have a bit of sparkle on the table!

What was your dress like and why do you love it?

My dress had some sparkle at the top and had lace at the bottom, which I loved! And was tight to the hip and had a long train which is something I really wanted.

Tell us about your ‘something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.’

My something old was a sixpence which a friend at work gave me, my something new was my dress, my something blue and borrowed was a handkerchief which my Nan gave me that my Granddad had given her when they were younger. I kept this all in my bag on the day.

Where did your groom get his morning suit?

We got the suits from The Wedding Village in Rayleigh, my groom had a grey suit with tails and he wore an ivory cravat and the rest of the bridal party wore lilac ones.

Did you buy each other wedding presents?

Yes I bought my husband Tiffany cufflinks and he bought me a beautiful pair of earrings to wear on the day and sent a beautiful bouquet of flowers to my mum and dads while I was getting ready.

Can you tell me about your wedding cake?

Our wedding cake was made by a family friend called Harriet Fulcher and it was exactly what I wanted.  Simple and elegant, it was a three-tier cake with some lilac roses on the top and at the side.

What was your most useful source of wedding ideas and information?

Definitely ‘You and Your Wedding’ magazine, I bought this every month! I got so many ideas from the real weddings section.

Tell us about a supplier who provided a first-class service.

All our suppliers did a fantastic job! But a special mention to Studio Rochford and Piano DJ J we were so happy with the outstanding service we received from them both.  Also my mum’s best friend Sue Smart did our flowers and they were perfect!

Do you have any advice for future brides?

Relax! I was so stressed leading up to the wedding, always worrying about what everyone would think and how everything would look.  At the end of the day as soon as I walked down the aisle (my shoe got caught in my dress so I was glad when that bit was over haha!) I had no worries at all, everything I had worried about didn’t even matter as long as you and your husband enjoy yourself that is all that matters.

What was your favourite photograph and why did you like it?

We have a lot of favourites! But I would say the picture of us standing in the walkway to the cottage and my husband is kissing my cheek, we just look so happy and in love!
