Hylands House in Chelmsford is a wonderful Grade II listed, Essex wedding venue, perfect for either a summer or winter wedding. Dating from 1730 Hylands House has been carefully and sympathetically restored to it’s former glory over the last two decades. In summer the grounds, which stretch to 574 acres, are thoughtfully landscaped with a huge selection of flowers and rambling clematis and wisteria. The gardens make a wonderful backdrop for your wedding photographs.
For a winter wedding at Hylands House, photographs can be taken using the beautifully restored rooms. Each has its own individual charm which can be used to help create stunning wedding photography. The Drawing Room in which your ceremony may be held, has been carefully gilded and hand painted in the most delicate of pastel shades, decadence and shabby-chic effortlessly combined to create the loveliest of settings. The Banqueting Room is simply decadent. Rich colours and even richer gilding adorn the most glamorous of settings to host your wedding breakfast.
With the addition of the new Pavillion at the end of 2013 Hylands House is now able to cater for both intimate weddings in the house itself and a much larger number of guests in the Pavillion. With seating for 250 for your ceremony and up to 300 for your evening reception, Hylands House is now one of the largest wedding venues in Essex.
